Do I have to empty dressers or chest of drawers?

You may leave clothing and fabric in drawers. All other items must be removed. We suggest you cover the contents with a towel or bed sheet. This will give you privacy and protect your goods from inclement weather in case we remove some of the drawers due to weight.

On a local move, must I empty my refrigerator and freezer?

Yes, they must be empty. Also, if you have an icemaker, be sure the water supply can be shut off, prior to moving day. Sometimes the valve may be corroded and will not completely shut off. Moving day is not the time to find this out.

Will you move lawn mowers and other power tools?

Yes, but they must be completely void of fuel, as must be space heaters. We will not move propane tanks such as the type on your gas grill.

Will you do partial packing such as china, crystal, artwork, and lamps?

Yes, we quite often pack more fragile items and the person being moved packs items such as books, pots, pans, linens, etc.

May I use "used" cartons or do I have to buy cartons from the mover?

You can use cartons other than the movers' but they must have tops and be closed and taped.

Will you move only large pieces of furniture (including appliances), if we move all the small pieces and cartons?

Yes, we will. However, it is very important not to over estimate the amount you will do. Cartons are quite time consuming. The average person looks at an item like a hide-a-bed as being a monster to move. The truth is that in most cases two movers pick it up and carry it to the truck. Should you create the same cubic footage in cartons, those same movers will make two to three trips to the truck. This will result in additional cost, and most often in excess of what the person being moved is expecting.

Do you disassemble and reassemble our beds

Yes, we do.

Are you fully insured?

A movers' basic liability for your goods is as follows: when moving intrastate (within Pennsylvania) 30 cents per pound per article, and when moving interstate (from one state to another) 60 cents per pound per article. If you wish additional coverage, you may declare such valuation and pay the increased tariff rate applicable to the valuation you declare. We offer full replacement value coverage at a cost of 85 cents per $100 of declared value.

What method of payment is required?

Unless the mover has informed you prior to delivery that a personal check is acceptable, payment is expected in cash, certified check, or money order.

How do I go about getting an estimate of my moving cost?

You may contact our office Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. at 610-696-4200 or e-mail us your information (name, current address, address you are moving to, telephone number, number of rooms, if you have a garage, basement or storage shed, your email address, date of the move, and any other questions or concerns).
